Pleated blinds, or concertina or plisse blinds as they’re sometimes known, are a panel of fabric which has been press pleated so that the fabric concertinas, or stacks when raised, and extends into a loose zig-zag when lowered.
Pleated Blinds, unlike wooden blinds, don’t contain slats but rather a single fabric panel which when closed offers privacy and varying degrees of light control, depending on the fabric choice, ranging from light diffusion to blackout. When open, the panel tucks away in a small stack, revealing as much of the window possible and letting in a lot of natural light. You can regulate the light by partially opening them. Pleated conservatory roof blinds can be motorised and operated using a handset, smartphone app or even voice.
Your Design Consultant will review your requirements and recommend the best solution; our Pleated blinds will be custom-made to your exact window specifications.
Yes. Our Pleated blinds can be fitted into the rebate of the window, tensioned between the glass and the frame, allowing it to move with the window or door to which it is fitted.
Our Pleated blinds work well in bathrooms, not least due to the range of textures, colours and styles available, but also have a number of solutions to privacy versus light, which can often be a challenge in these rooms.
Pleated blinds can be dusted with a clean, dry duster or the upholstery brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner. Avoid pressing too hard against the pleats as it may cause wrinkling or ripping of the fabric. Spot treat stains with a barely damp cloth, or a specialist stain remover tested on an inconspicuous area. Avoid using fabric sprays as they can stain.
Pleated blinds are an excellent choice for a conservatory for several reasons. Our specialist fabrics can help keep your conservatory cooler in summer and warmer in winter, we custom-make shapes pleated blinds to fit roof windows and rebates, as well as door and window openings, available in a variety of styles and colours.
